Program
Why should you learn how to use a personal computer?
Being able to use a computer will:
- enhance your enjoyment of any hobby or activity, and keep you in touch with relatives and friends.
- help combat loneliness, as many seniors make new friends by participating in internet groups or clubs that have interests similar to yours.
- improve employability because today the computer is as essential as reading, writing, and arithmetic.
- if you are involved with any volunteer organization, make you more valuable to the organization and make your volunteer time more enjoyable.
You didn't grow up with a computer? You don't know how to use one? No problem! We can get you started, and you don't need any prior computer skills or experience to take our "Introduction to Personal Computers" course. We offer a variety of computer classes that will teach you basic computer skills, how computers work, how to use a word processor to write letters and other material, how to send and receive email, and how to navigate the internet and find the information you are looking for. We can assist you on buying and setting up your computer and getting connected to the internet. If you have a grandson who is surfing the internet, we will tell you what he is doing, and show you how to do it, too!
With our intermediate classes, you can learn more advanced computer skills in word processing, digital photography, and Microsoft Publisher.
