Description
This course continues the exploration of features begun in the Computer Basics Course. Its objective is to teach the student how to set up computer features responsive to personal requirements and desires. In particular, the class addresses customization of the Start menu, changing computer settings, and use of Windows Explorer and Computer disks. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to organize the data in their computer to work effectively and efficiently. Problem solving, file search, file management, using the desktop for shortcuts, and the folders are featured. Copying disks, use of the recycle bin, finding answers in the Help program, and Microsoft Operating System Windows 7 features are also included.
Instructors
Chuck Cook teaches
Intermediate Computer Operations and is the Coordinator of the Center. He
became a SeniorNet volunteer in 1992 and helped establish the
Virginia JCA Computer Center. Chuck is a retired Federal
employee. His main use of the computer is exchanging email with
friends and relatives.
Anne Reeves worked 36 years, retired, took
a SeniorTech class in 1997 and volunteered as a coach
and has enjoyed volunteering with just the very best and nicest people.
